How it works
Plans change. Your money shouldn't disappear.
- 1
Sign up
Create a free account with your email or Google.
- 2
Verify your ID once
A two-minute check with your passport or ID card, run by our payments partner Stripe. We never store your documents.
- 3
Upload your booking
Tell us about the stay and upload your proof (below). Our team checks every listing before buyers see it.
- 4
A traveler buys it
They pay SwapTrip, not you directly, so both sides are protected.
- 5
Change the guest name
You ask the hotel or booking site to put the booking in the buyer's name, then upload the updated confirmation.
- 6
They travel, you get paid
Once the buyer has checked in, we send you the money.
What you need to list a booking
Booking confirmation email
The original confirmation email, saved as a PDF or .eml file. Screenshots aren't accepted.
Invoice or receipt
Shows the dates, the guest name and the amount paid. PDF, JPG or PNG.
A booking that allows a guest name change
Check your booking's terms or ask the hotel. If the name can't be changed, the buyer can't check in.
A stay within the next 90 days
Hotels only for now.
Booked by phone, or not sure your booking qualifies? Contact support and we'll verify it by hand before it goes live.
When is a deal complete?
When the buyer has checked in. Until then the money is held by SwapTrip, and the buyer gets a refund if the hotel refuses them or the seller cancels.
